Isi Ultimatum Inggris Kepada Rakyat Surabaya

TO ALL INDONESIANS OF SOERABAYA.
On October 28th, 1945, Indonesians of Soerabaya treacherously and without provocation, suddenly attacked the British Forces who had come for the purpose of disarming and concentrating the Japanese Forces, of bringings relief to Allied prisoners of war and internees, and of maintaining law and order. In the fighting which ensued, British personnel were killed or wounded, some are missing, interned woman and children were massacred, and finally Brigadier Mallaby was foully murdered when trying to implement the truce which had been broken in spite of Indonesian undertakings.
The above crimes against civilization cannot go unpunished. Unless therefore, the following orders are obeyed without fail by 06.00 hours on 10th, November at the latest, I shall enforce them with all the sea, land and air forces at my disposal, and those Indonesians who have failed to obey my orders will be solely responsible for the bloodshed which must inevitably ensue.
